Shanna Smith Hetterley serves as the Director of Operations and Administration for BCA Executive Consultants. Throughout her career, Shanna has held various roles in C-Suite and executive management, partner and community relations, and marketing and communications. She specializes in project management, strategic planning, human resources planning, succession planning, board governance, executive communication, logistics, and event planning.

Shanna holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Hardin-Simmons University (2008), a Master of Business Administration from Liberty University (2009) and is a doctoral candidate at Walden University. Her doctoral emphasis is in Business Administration: Human Resources and Strategic Planning. At Walden, she is a member of the Fulbright Scholar Association, Golden Key International Honor Society, and the Delta Mu Delta International Business Honor Society.

Shanna is also a graduate of the prestigious Harvard Business School’s Young American Leaders Program (YALP) and a graduate of the Leadership San Antonio (LSA) program. She holds additional leadership certifications from Dale Carnegie and the Experience Institute.

Shanna has served on many local and statewide boards, committees and taskforces. She currently serves as the President of the Board of Young Associates at Hardin-Simmons University. She also serves on the Executive Committee for the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Professional Network and as the Co-Chair for San Antonio’s new Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zone (MSEEZ).

Shanna’s work has won several awards and honors including being named the Hardin-Simmons University Outstanding Young Alumni in 2017. Shanna served as Mrs. Fort Sam Houston in 2017 and was crowned Mrs. Military 2018 for her exceptional contributions to the military community. Shanna was also named to the San Antonio Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” list in 2019.
Shanna is married to Jake Hetterley, who serves as an active duty service member in the United States Army. Shanna’s hobbies include spending time with family and friends, volunteering, running, yoga, weight training, hiking, and travel.
